Abstract
An equation is derived for the collector-current waveform obtained when an unbiased transistor is driven by a large highfrequency sinusoidal voltage between base and emitter. Fourier analysis of this waveform together with assumptions about the input and output impedances enables the gain and efficiency of large-signal tuned transistor amplifiers to be found. The performance of three such amplifiers was measured. There appears to be reasonable agreement between the calculated and measured gain and efficiency. Keywords
