Concentration of Chlortetracycline in the Blood of Yellow-Crowned Amazon Parrots Fed Medicated Pelleted Feeds

Abstract
Chlortetracycline (CTC) concentrations of 0.18-7.7 .mu.g/ml, 1.4-4.8 .mu.g/ml and 1.3-6.3 .mu.g/ml were attained in the blood of Yellow-Crowned Amazon parrots (A. ochrocephala) fed pellets containing 1, 1.5 and 1.75% CTC, respectively. Some CTC activity in the feed samples was lost during the course of the study.
