Abstract
A battery of creativity, conformity, and originality tests was administered to 3-, 4-, and 5-yr.-old children participating in experimental pre-primary programs of educational stimulation. One of the tests was an impersonal situational task designed to measure conforming and nonconforming tendencies. It was the object of this paper to discern at what point in time conforming behavior begins for boys and for girls. No significant differences were found among 3-, 4-, and 5-yr.-old children when the sexes were combined. Further analysis of the differences between sexes for these three age levels showed 5-yr.-old girls to be significantly more conforming than 5-yr.-old boys on this task. Keywords
