Female, born 1917 Family history: uneventful Personal history: at the age of 50 years, recurrent purpura of the skin At 54 years: hematuria, proteinuria, and hypertension At 56 years: macrohematuria, purpura, edema, hypertension (BP 220/110 mmHgj Laboratory findings: Hemoglobin 12.2 g%, WBC normal Creatinine in serum 1 mg% Inulin clearance 50 ml/min • 1.73 m2 Latex-test pos. 1:5120 Urine: proteinuria 1-5 g/day; hematuria 0-+++ Clinical diagnosis: recurrent Schönlein-Henoch syndrome
