Abstract
The host-feeding patterns of Culex Tarsalis in the Sacramento Valley, California, demonstrated a relatively balanced mammalian-avian feeding ratio. The degree to which mammals or birds were fed on by this mosquito, for the most part, depended upon host availability. Although relatively few mosquitoes were collected during the winter period, there was an indication that an increased proportion fed on birds during this period, indicating that changes in feeding take place from winter to summer. The feeding patterns of 6 other culicine and 2 anopheline mosquitoes were also studied. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
