Abstract
The analysis of slip in riveted or bolted joints during harmonic excitation has been the subject of much research. However, in the case of plates the slip is induced by in-plane forces which do not appear in the classical linear plate theory. The aim of this study is to present a general formulation of this problem on the basis of Von Ka´rma´n’s equations and to propose a method of solution in the case of forced vibrations. It is based on the Krylov-Bogoliubov linearization method and on the notion of nonlinear modes. Its application in the case of circular plates revealed structural damping which justifies the use of linear hysteretic model. Keywords
