Primary or Essential Sideroachrestic Anaemias

Abstract
Primary or essential sideroachrestic anemia (13 cases) falls into 2 groups. The hypochromic, often familial, form differs from the isochromic or hyperchromic form, the latter occurring at a more advanced age and appearing to be acquired. The hypochromic form must be differentiated from the hemoglobinop-athies, and the isochromic or hyperchromic form from malignant erythremia (DiGuglielmo''s disease). Partial improvement followed the administration of pyridoxine, vitamin C and folic acid.
