Resistivity, Magnetization, Susceptibility and Critical Current Density of High-Tc Superconductor ErBa2Cu3O7-δ

Abstract
The ErBa2Cu3O7-δ sample which is of a single phase of the orthorhombic YBa2Cu3O7-δ structure has shown the value of T c=90.0±0.7 K and the Meissner flux expulsion up to 50% at 79 K. The critical current density was 350 A/cm2 at zero magnetic field, while it decreased rapidly with increasing field. The magnetic susceptibility in normal state is explained by the Curie-Weiss law with the effective moment µeff=9 µB which is in good agreement with the one for the free ion of Er.
