Abstract
Using Dean''s fluorosis criteria, 572 continuous resident white children 12 - 14 years old were examined for enamel opacities in a fluoride area, Aurora, Ill. (1.2 ppm F) and a nonfluoride area, Montgomery and Prince Geoges counties (0.2 ppm F). Differentiation between the 2 types of opacity was accomplished by their physical appearance in 94% of the cases and by pattern and frequency per child in the remainder. Keywords
