Abstract
Epidermoid cysts of the spleen have rarely been reported. A patient whom I have followed up for ten years after splenectomy had a megalosplenic cyst lined in part by a stratified epidermoid structure. This case will be discussed before a review of the cases so far described in the literature is presented. REPORT OF A CASE History. —V. N., a white girl, aged 16, entered the Detroit Receiving Hospital on June 20, 1922, with the complaint of a gradual enlargement of the upper left part of the abdomen during the preceding two and one-half years. There had been an occasional slight local pain which was referred to the left shoulder. Once, about four months before, there was a sudden, sharp, severe pain in the region of the enlargement, accompanied by a marked degree of dyspnea.
