The embryology of Lytta viridana Le Conte (Coleoptera: Meloidae). IV. Chromatin elimination

Abstract
Chromatin elimination occurs in most of the embryonic tissues of Lytta viridana during the first fifth of the period of embryogenesis. Equatorial disks or chromosome-like bodies that stained densely with iron-hematoxylin were found in anaphase and telophase cells of the amnion, germ cell rudiment, ectoderm, neuroblasts, and mesoderm as well as in the maturing oocyte and cleavage cells.
