Abstract
In an effort to identify factors that might prove helpful in mitigating the ills of old age considered “normal” in our society, the author visited three remote areas of the world where numerous centenarians lead active, productive lives. Do heredity, diet, lack of stress, physical environment, or a combination of these influences, account for the remarkable longevity? The differences encountered suggest that no easy answer will be found. Keywords
