Abstract
The left ureter was transected in 16 $ albino rats (avg. wt. 82 g.). Eight of the animals served as controls, and the remaining were given 2 daily subcut. injns. of 20 mg. of lyophilized cattle ant. lobe tissue suspended in 0.2 ml. of physiological saline soln. for 20 days. AH animals were killed at that time. Gross and microscopic examination revealed that the atrophy of the kidney tissue, which ensues within 20 days in untreated albino rats, is inhibited by daily treatment with ant. lobe extracts from cattle hypophyses. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
