Abstract
An attempt is made to deduce the cross section for the production of DD¯ in proton-proton collisions from the experimental data on dilepton production. The mass spectrum of the dileptons resulting from the semileptonic decays of the DD¯ pair is studied in the fusion model of DD¯ production. An upper limit to the DD¯ production cross section is determined by comparing the dilepton mass spectrum to experimental data. Keywords
