Abstract
A descriptive survey study was done to identify: 1) nursing educators attitudes toward computers and 2) their perception of the need to learn about selected aspects of computers and their use in nursing. Findings of the study indicated that nursing educators had positive attitudes toward computers. They were most positive with respect to the computer's efficiency and importance in society and least positive in relation to their willingness to use and accept the use of computers. The subjects wanted to have a high level of knowledge about computers and perceived themselves to have a low level. They were most interested in learning about the application of computers to education and east interested in learning about how a computer functions. There was high variance with respect to specific learning needs. Graduate faculty had a significantly lower learning need and a higher level of current knowledge than other faculty (P<.05).Keywords
