Abstract
The official method for designating white wine color in terms of LU equivalent has been proven invalid (4). In this report, an alternative method is suggested based on the technique of transreflectometry developed by the author for translucent light-scattering systems. Experimental evidence is presented in detail showing that the proposed method evaluates the color of white wines to the precision demanded by the Federal Regulation. Keywords
