Abstract
Relative oscillator strengths for 33 neutral yttrium (Y i) transitions between 2723 and 4761 Å have been measured by the hook method. The data have been analyzed and placed on an absolute scale by using a numerical procedure developed by Cardon, Smith, and Whaling and the published absolute lifetimes of Beer, and Andersen, Ramanujam, and Bahr. The level lifetime of Beer is found to be in error. The absolute lifetime of the level is determined to be 36 ± 4 ns. The total uncertainties in the absolute oscillator strengths are between 9% and 14%.
