Abstract
SCANNING LASER polarimetry (SLP) is an optical imaging technique used clinically as an aid to diagnose and monitor glaucoma. This technique relies on the birefringent property of the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) to provide an indirect measurement of RNFL thickness based on the linear relationship between the retardation of monochromatic reflected light and histologically measured RNFL tissue thickness.1Keywords
