A New Genus of Eurotiaceae from Soil

Abstract
A new genus and its type sp., Backusia terricola, are de-sribed and figured. There is some resemblance to Catenularia Groves, but certain morphological features make the fungus distinct from other presently described genera of Eurotiaceae. Asci deliquesce early. Cultural characteristics and ascospore and conidial development are described.
