Abstract
A follow-up report on the results of operative treatment of the most frequent compression syndrome of the median nerve at the wrist is presented. Of 131 patients, 68 were followed. In more than 80%, the decompression (division of the flexor retinaculum) relieved pain and neurological disability. Remarks are made on prognosis, associated disturbances and on sex distribution.
