ANGIOGRAPHY IN VENOUS DYSPLASIAS OF THE LIMBS

Abstract
Sixteen patients with venous dysplasias of the limbs have been investigated. The 3 angiographic techniques employed (direct intravenous phlebography, intraosseous phlebography, and indirect arterial phlebography) are described and discussed. The venous dysplasias in our series fell into 2 main groups and a simple roentgenologic classification is suggested: (1) phlebectasia when the main abnormality is abnormal venous trunks; and (2) venous angioma when the principal abnormality is dilated venous spaces.
