Abstract
Superconducting layers of V3Ga are formed at the interface of solid state V-(Cu, Ga) diffusion couples during heat treatment. Growth of diffusion layers has been investigated as function of temperature, time, and composition of the copper-gallium alloy. Beyond that we report on deformability and recrystallization behaviour of (Cu, Ga) as well as on electrical properties of filamentary V3Ga composite wires.
