Abstract
The factors necessary for the safe clinical use of sodium nitroprusside are considered in the light of the author's clinical experience. The reasons for abnormal responses to the exhibition of this hypotensive agent are considered and the precautions necessary and the need to avoid overdosage are emphasised.Keywords
