Abstract
Buildings on clay strata settle due to squeezing out of pore water from the interstices of the soil. Estimation of the settlement which takes place during and after construction is of considerable importance to the construction engineer. The theoretical analysis of the settlement of a rectangular area under uniform load is presented in the paper and the more significant results are abstracted in tables and graphs. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
