VIRUSES AND DISEASE: II. AN OUTBREAK OF PARAINFLUENZA TYPE 2 IN A CHILDREN'S HOME1

Abstract
An outbreak of parainfluenza type 2 infection producing a mild respiratory illness occurred over a 7-week period in the fall of 1965; 28 of 45 children were affected. Infection could be demonstrated in 18 iII and 4 well children, two-thirds of whom were serologicalty negative before the epidemic. Illness occurred more frequently in young children who a bo had smaller quantitative rises in serum neutralizing antibody titer.
