Abstract
Experimental information now exists on the behavior of electromagnetic form factors at very high momentum transfer . This has led to speculations on the asymptotic behavior of the form factors as . In this paper we consider nonrelativistic Schrödinger models of composite systems and correlate the asymptotic behavior of with the nature of the forces in the limit of zero interparticle separation. Conditions for falloff more rapid than powers of are analyzed, and comparisons with proton and deuteron data are presented.
