Abstract
This paper describes some of the major approaches to the problem of how to measure the productivity of a firm, or part of a firm. Some of the empirical work which has been done in this field is also reviewed. Finally, the relative significance of the various contributions is assessed and a profitable direction for future work suggested. Keywords
