Abstract
Following photosynthetic 14C-bicarbonate assimilation, procarps of Polysiphonia lanosa continue to accumulate 14C in the dark, and in the absence of external radioactivity. This accumulation is demonstrated to be derived from photoassimilates which originate in the gametophytic tissue supporting the procarp. The importance of this observation is discussed in relation to the epiphytic habit of P. lanosa. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
