The Hall effect in glassy and liquid metals

Abstract
It is demonstrated that the existence of positive Hall coefficients in glassy and liquid metals can in principle be explained by the Faber-Ziman theory. The theory leads to a correlation with the thermopower which is in qualitative agreement with the experimental results but which is not suitable for quantitative calculations. Suggestions for a more general approach are given.Keywords
