“Wishful Thinking” on the Presidential Election

Abstract
Students' predictions about the 1968 presidential election were related to their desires on the issue. In accord with other investigations, positive correlations were found between prediction of outcomes and desirability of outcomes. Also, the correlation coefficient was higher for the more uncertain predictions.Keywords
