Abstract
Incompatible theories for hydrodynamic fluctuations far from full equilibrium are described and compared. The two types of approach are compared with the well established near equilibrium theory of hydrodynamic fluctuations. They are also checked for internal consistency and it is shown that one of the approaches checks out as inconsistent. The other approach is recommended as a valid approaach. Keywords
