Field-ion microscope evidence for the existence of ana〈110〉 dislocation in iron

Abstract
The contrast theory for perfect dislocations in the b.c.c. lattice is extended to predict the expected contrast from dislocations having Burgers vectors of the type a〈100〉 and a〈110〉. A two-leaved spiral configuration of a (110) pole in a field-ion micrograph of iron is unambiguously identified as arising from the latter type of dislocation.
