Abstract
The contrast theory for perfect dislocations in the b.c.c. lattice is extended to predict the expected contrast from dislocations having Burgers vectors of the type a〈100〉 and a〈110〉. A two-leaved spiral configuration of a (110) pole in a field-ion micrograph of iron is unambiguously identified as arising from the latter type of dislocation. Keywords
