Abstract
Serum immunoglobulin levels (IgG 1, IgG 2, IgM, IgA) in mice bearing a methylcholanthrene-induced sarcoma were measured at different intervals of time after tumor implantation. IgG 2 levels increased parallely with the growth of tumor, dropping suddenly when the tumor reached its maximum diameter. Spleen weight also increased. High levels of IgM were observed in the first days after tumor transfer. These Ig levels correlate with the γ-globulin values obtained by electrophoresis. The data suggest a primary (IgM) and secondary (IgG) response to the tumor cells. Keywords
