Abstract
The damage evolution process of the single- or double-edge notched specimens sub jected to uniaxial tensile load is studied systematically by moire technique in this paper. A method for directly measuring the damaged region on the moire fringe pattern is proposed. Some relations between the mechanical parameters of the damage process are evaluated and analyzed. The strain distribution in the whole damage process in cluding onset, stable and unstable propagation of damage is discussed. Keywords
