Abstract
The use of different methods of obtaining theoretical models of amorphous transition elements is discussed, and in particular the nature of the seed used at the centre of a cluster is considered. It is concluded that a regular or nearly regular tetrahedron having an atom at each corner is the most satisfactory seed so far tried. Keywords
