Abstract
Contingently reinforced electrodermal orienting responses to a simple visual stimulus with slides indicating a bonus. 12 pairs of experimental and control 21-30 yr. old Ss were matched on habituation trials and yoked for 40 acquisition and 10 extinction trials. The group reinforced for electrodermal responses to the stimulus produced significantly more responses than the yoked control group. The differences were limited to stimulus periods rather than to overall rate. The problem of yoked control designs and practical applications of the procedure are discussed. (15 ref.)
