Abstract
In this paper we show how the standard goal programming approach to engineering design can be enhanced by the use of multiple objective linear and geometric programming formulations. For simple formulations a logarithmic transformation may be adequate to allow problems to be solved using linear programming and multiple objective linear programming methods. For some more complex forms, geometric programming can be used. Keywords
