Abstract
The paper focuses on the application of an anisotropic model proposed recently by the authors for damage assessment of brittle composite lamina. The formula tion is established based on the concept of damage surface and within the theory of small deformation and time-independent processes. The comparison between the experimental and predicted results has shown that the present method can be used adequately to approx imate the damage behaviors of brittle fiber-reinforced lamina under simple plane stress state and under proportional loading. Keywords
