Abstract
This article is intended to serve as a reference source for specific information on the epidemiology of viruses of the California encephalitis group. Data are summarized from 159 references in the form of tables and maps. Included are human cases of infection in the United States, sources of virus isolations, results of serological surveys in man and both wild and domestic animals, of inoculation studies in animals, of arthropod infection and transmission studies. Data are presented from South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australia as well as from the North American continent.
