Abstract
The influence of recursive search in the in-degree distribution of growing networks is investigated. A model with recursive searches as a main ingredient is proposed. Its properties are investigated using a rate equation approach and numerical simulations. It is shown that recursive searches can lead to very rich behaviors, from exponential in-degree distributions to truncated power laws and a self-organized critical state with robust power laws. Keywords
