To the Editor: The ability of lymphocytes to form spontaneous rosettes with sheep red blood cells (SRBC) in vitro can be used as a marker for human thymus-dependent (T) lymphocytes.1 2 3 Wybran et al. (N Engl J Med 288:710–713, 1973) reported that the percentage of this lymphocyte population wras diminished in patients with defective cellular immunity, whereas patients with humoral immune deficiency had normal numbers of T cells.Since impairment in delayed hypersensitivity may occur in Hodgkin's disease,4 , 5 we determined the number of blood lymphocytes forming SRBC rosettes2 , 3 in 10 patients with various stages of the disease.
