Abstract
The dependence on laboratory tests for the diagnosis of Lyme borreliosis has been increasing as the recognized clinical spectrum of disease manifestations has widened. Unfortunately, the state of standardization and proficiency testing for these tests is not well established and the quality of testing not optimum. It is extremely important in diagnosing Lyme borreliosis that clinical symptomatology and history be critically reviewed to make valid conclusions from the laboratory test results. Keywords
