Abstract
The Workshop on Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphomas (CTCL), sponsored by the Mycosis Fungoides Cooperative Group (MFCG) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and chaired by the authors, was held Oct 20 to 21, 1978, in Bethesda, Md. The purposes of the workshop were to review developments in the biology of T cells and CTCL and to develop a consensus on the pathology, classification and staging, and therapy of mycosis fungoides (MF). The workshop was attended by 63 invited physicians and scientists from the United States, Canada, Denmark, England, France, and Israel. Sections and chairmen were as follows: Pathology: Elson B. Helwig, MD (Air Force Institute of Pathology [AFIP]); T-Cell Biology: Thomas C. Waldmann, MD (NCI); Therapy: Ervin Epstein, Jr, MD (University of California at San Francisco), and Eli Glatstein, MD (NCI); and Large Trials: Franco Muggia, MD (NCI).
