Abstract
The title chiral troponoid compounds were resolved in optically pure forms by high-performance liquid chromatography on a chiral poly(triphenylmethyl methacrylate) column. The compounds showed large optical rotations. The absolute configuration of (−)-3,12-dichloro derivative was found to be R by X-ray analysis. Resolved enantiomers were racemized upon UV irradiation in solution. Keywords
