Abstract
Increased diagnostic accuracy of the upper gastrointestinal tract examination and a decline in the occurrence of gastric carcinoma have placed renewed emphasis upon the differential diagnosis of benign versus malignant lesions. One of the benign lesions of the upper gastrointestinal tract which is to be expected with a certain frequency, and the diagnosis of which can be made roentgenographically, is aberrant pancreas. The location of aberrant pancreas in the stomach is within 6 cm. of the pylorus[See figures in the PDF file]and represents itself as a filling defect with a central dimple or niche. Occasionally, inflammation of the lesion may cause spasm of surrounding tissues and/or obstructive signs.Aberrant pancreas in the duodenum is less amenable to roentgenographic diagnosis and has seldom been recognized as such preoperatively. Keywords
