CALCIFIED ADENOCARCINOMA OF THE COLON

Abstract
Calcification in primary carcinoma of the colon is an unusual finding, but 1 which should be considered in the differential diagnosis of calcified abdominal lesions. A new case of calcification in an adenocarcinoma of the colon which was roentgenographically demonstrated is reported, with a review of 9 similar cases from the literature. The calcifications in these lesions tend to be mottled in appearance, but may have curvilinear components. Histologically, those neoplasms of the large bowel in which Ca is found are mucus-producing adeno-carcinomas.
