Regge-Type Representations for Coulomb-NuclearSMatrix

Abstract
Using a Yukawa-type "nuclear" potential, Regge poles and residues of the Coulomb-nuclear S matrix are calculated for various strengths of the repulsive Coulomb interaction. Partial-wave amplitudes and residues generated by different Regge-type representations are then compared with the exact results. Calculations are performed using both "sum-type" and "product-type" representations. These results are helpful in establishing the usefulness and validity of the Regge-pole approach to charged-particle—nucleus scattering.
