Abstract
Phagocytosis of algal chloroplasts by digestive gland cells in the sacoglossan opisthobranch Placida dendritica is described. It is suggested that engulfment of chloroplasts is accomplished by veils of cytoplasm which are derived from elongating microvilli. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
