Abstract
The effective control of nausea and vomiting induced by cancer chemotherapy is of primary concern to nurses caring for cancer patients. The authors have completed a prospective randomized study comparing delta-9-tetrahydrocan-nabinol (THC) to placebo for the control of nausea and vomiting in a population of osteogenic sarcoma patients receiving high-dose methotrexate. This is a narrative study that surveys the attitudes of the participating nurse co-investigators as they struggled with some of the issues of participating in this research project. The double-blind experimental model used to objectively compare marijuana to an inert placebo is also examined. Keywords
