Abstract
The results of a pilot study investigating the effects of a weekly validation therapy group in demented subjects are presented. Five patients were studied and the effects of the intervention on their mood, behaviour and sociability were quantified using standardized instruments. There was some increase in levels of interaction. These results are discussed and the need for further research into the benefits of this therapy is highlighted. Keywords
